Welcome and congrats on a great deal!
Read the stickies on cleaning your machine and watch the videos. Muv's techniques are safe for all machines.

That's a wonderful deal on a 301! I have to admit, the 301 is one of my favorites. It's such a pretty machine very lightweight and streamlined. It makes a lovely sound and is so peaceful and relaxing to sew on.

You did very well. The 301A is one of my favorites -- easy to transport and so smooth. You can lower the feed dogs, which many people don't realize.

I missed one for $25 the other week. I'd probably have had to hide that one from hubs though.

You got a really good deal on your 301. I own 2 of them.
I love to sew on them.
I got my first one off EBay, and my second one from Craigslist (with cabinet).
Both are in excellent condition. I'd really like to find a black one.

About 6 weeks ago I got a black one on eBay. She is cosmetically a little rough but she purrs. Such a perfect stitch too! 2 weeks later she traveled to AZ with me. I was having fun until I ran out of material. I have hit 2 fabric stores but didn't dare buy anything. I have way too Mich at home that needs to be used.

Nice score, Glenda! I have two and haven't sewn on them much other than oil and test them to see that they run. One's in a cabinet, the other in the trapezoid case (which makes more sense to me, as it was made to be a lightweight full-sized machine). If you have any epiphanies, please share them -- I'd be interested to read how much you like your 301 and why.

Congratulations on your find! $35 is a real bargain. My 301 just purrs and I use it a lot. The 301 is easy to adjust the tension. I got mine from a lady who used it on a Gracie frame and did quilting with it.
