This is when you start to realize you have a collection. And you think about adding a building.

The White is newer than I can discuss.

I just paid $30.00 for a sewing stool to go with the 15-91 I have. (My sister said my parents got rid of the stool years before.) If the machine tests out, the $90 seems reasonable to me, the San Diego area. I just saw $300.00 on one. Personally I would take the cabinet too but I prefer sewing on a machine in a cabinet over a machine on a table. I have the extended tables for my Janome, but got the table it sets in with the machine and much prefer it. My little Europro came with an extended table, and it's better than nothing, my Husqvarna Designer came with an extended table but I bought the Sew Ezi to set the machine into.
Let us know what happens.

leonf - I feel much better after seeing your collection! Those machines are beautiful, and I completely understand why you need all of them. And might need a few more. :-) And QuiltingCandy, I think if I started sewing with an extended cabinet, I would be hooked. I can't imagine having Room for my projects and not scrunching them up or twisting as I sew. I am starting to explore quilting, so I anticipate the extra room will be needed.

Once you get the bug it takes a while to get over it...I have 4 Vintage Singers and 1 Standard...3 301's two black, one tan...1 Red Head or Eye...1 treadle Standard. I'd love to have more but I found after a while you realize you might use them once in awhile but always go bk to your modern machines...

hobbykat1955 - you are so right! In a matter of 5 weeks, I've purchased 4 vintage machines.....and I'm headed to purchase my first White Rotary 77 tomorrow (no judgements.....I know there are some strong opinions about those White machines). I'm on Craigslist's notifications for "sewing machine" now, because I'm worried I'll miss a great vintage machine. My DH just shakes his head, but I think he's relieved my "mid-life crisis" is old sewing machines and not vintage cars! ha. But so far, my heart is happy when I can (potentially} save a machine from getting thrown away. I'm blessed to have a group that understands this addiction.

I don't think you can go wrong with a 500a or 401. They are two of the best machines Singer ever made. They clean
up easy and everything can still be fixed on them. I have reconditioned and sold several usually for around $175.00.
You don't need a case or cabinet for one and can sew on tabletop.

I'm with you until you get to the easy cleanup. They can be a chore to get going again if they have been stored a long time. However, I bought a 503 that was perfect and didn't require any deep cleaning.

Leon, that Husqvarna table would be such a find. I had no idea there was any such item out there. You must have such a fun place to play in.
