Here's a link to the Singer UK website for the St John's factory which appears to be where JC serial numbers were manufactured. Maybe they can help.

No need to make remarks like that. Most of the information missing was due to data lost in fires and the like. The fact that someone has info on the Saint Johns , does not make ISMACS any less "International" . ISMACS took over the information, to preserve it, from Singer USA. If that is not good enough for you, then don't use it.
