Singer Model 99 Parts

Singer Model 99 Parts
I have a singer model 99 machine that comes in the barrel shaped case. It requires a part that fits into the base of the case and operates with your knee to make it run. I am inquiring to see if anyone can direct me to a site that would sell such a part.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Is it the knee lever itself or the porcelain part placed in the smaller compartment to the right in the base? Either can be found on places like fleabay and with a bit of luck else where too. The lever for model 99 is a bit shorter than for full size machines like 201 or 66, they will work with the machine but will not fit in the case. If a 28 or 128 is fitted with knee lever control, it should be the same as for the 99. I'm sure you are aware of it, but just in case; the knee levers fitted in cabinets are different from the portable cases.

Thank you! I had been searching on sites that sell sewing machine parts only. Had not thought of ebay! I need the lever itself. A friend has one with the lever, but the one I purchased does not have it. I have used his lever to make sure my machine works. I will take a cruise around ebay and see what I find. Thanks, again.

Since your friends' bar works in your machine, make sure when you find one that it has the same end that goes into the machine. Singer made two or three different end styles and AFAIK they don't interchange.

Like Cari said, make sure you get the correct lever. The newer flat end one is rather easy to find, the older barrel end one is a bit less common. I did not know the difference - and now have an extra flat end one.
I did finally locate a newer (1929) 99 that takes the flat end lever, but it came with a lever. I've got an older 128 that takes the barrel end lever, and I did locate one of those too. And since I have the table taht fit into, I have the straight version of it also.
For reference, you should be able to get one around $30 - $50 mark. Some sellers ask a lot more, and sometimes you get lucky and find a "buy it now" cheap before anyone else does.
The barrel end one in this picture is the straight bar - so ignore that part and pay attention to the ends. They fit into the controller on the machine.
