Hello,
My name is Joyce. I currently own a Singer Quantum DSX from 1993. My daughter hopes to take it with her to school. I am hoping to either find an older cabinet that it would fit into. I keep searching Yahoo groups for singer quantum, and I am not sure if your group includes my type of machine. I am really just trying to find out if my old singer quantum DSX would fit into an old wooden singer sewing machine cabinet. I don't want to waste anyone's time if this is the incorrect resource. I've asked Joyce to email me the dimensions of her machine base...and I'll post when I get it.

Wondering offhand if anyone knows if a regular Singer cabinet will work?

Probably not. unless there are hinge pin holes in the back of the machine base there is no way to fasten the machine in the cabinet. It would take some modification to build a shelf for the machine to sit on.
