singer site has after 1959. ismacs doesn't show anything. singer office is closed today so no calling them.

A Singer 201 sounds a lot like your description. Class 66 horizontal bobbin, the same style of top tension as a 66 and a stitch length regulator like a model 15. Singer 1200s were similar but with a knee lift. I'm kind of kicking myself for not buying a 1200 I saw last summer for $50. I probably could have came up with the money if I really wanted to and I'll be lucky if I ever see one again for that price. I'm not sure when Singer stopped production of the 201s. The potted motor 201s tend to turn up more often than those designed for treadle, handcrank or external motor applications.

I know I've seen the LA number mentioned some where. It's the singer machine with all parts having singer cast or stamped in. instead of sinmco #2425267 singer #2425267 also has singer cast under the bed. class 15 mechanic's. upper tension and take up arm facing you, but a class 15 type tensioner . the tensioner is why it wasn't in the treadle cabinet. they have the wrong set up in it

I finally googled singer sewmaster and came up with this site, It looks like you can still buy a singer sewmaster treadle or could in 2014 but it's not the same machine as I have..
