The machine in Alaska does not have any built in stitches and doesn't take cams. So it only does straight stitch and ziz zag. The Etsy machine takes cams. So it is more versatile.
"That is a Singer 237. Basically, a 301 with zigzag." I'm not sure how it can be compared to a 301. The Alaska machine takes a class 66 drop-in bobbin, and has a internal belt drive. The 301 has a removable bobbincase and is all gear driven with no belts. The 301 is a precision machine, and top of the line. These other two machines were good machines, but closer to the bottom of the line.
