Standard SewHandy- my lucky day
Went to an estate sale yesterday and saw it. But didn't want to pay full price. Came back this morning and it was still there. Paid $67.50. Seems functional. Bobbin is in there somewhere but tricky to get to.

The outer bobbin cover has a spring-loaded latch on the side toward the back of the machine. That will release the cover, but it doesn't come off, it just drops out of the way. The bobbin case can then be accessed. That's a very small space allowed to access the bobbin. Be very careful with the bobbin case; it appears more fragile than most, and is basically unobtainium.
Congratulations, your machine looks very nice. Mine, identical in appearance except the decals and name, is the later General Electric. It sews nicely, but is certainly a heavy little thing!

Thanks Dianne. I will work on the bobbin case carefully. Mine has a General Electric motor. It is very clean. I oiled it as directed. It says put oil on the gears! Do you have any recommendations on how to clean the outside of the case?

Alyce,
On cases like this, try wiping it down with a slightly damp cloth to remove dust. Then apply Armour-All, following their directions. This is what my husband has done for years with microscope accessory cases, and he has wonderful luck. I know that is what was done to my GE case, but can't get at it right now to check on how it is holding up.
As always, try anything on a small, hidden area first. Over time, temperature, humidity and sun exposure can change how the same material reacts to treatment.

Did you get the bobbin out?
with all three of mine, I just get it with a thumb and forefinger and pinch, which will push the latch in and it should pop open. Mine are spring loaded, and they do pop open.
See the darker metal peice below the screw? that is the top of the latch part you are pinching to release. You should easily feel it if you put a finger along the back side of that knob.
This shows it open with the bobbin case removed
