Default The stars aligned, Model 12

Ok, I don't really believe we are guided by the stars Tuesday NZquilter alerted all of us to a funny Singer on CL I had already taken the day off to go take GF to a Dr. appointment in Kansas City. And I had money in my pocket yesterday. We contacted the owner of the machine and we got it after her Dr. visit. It was a poor ad without a model #, "works" err yea, the"jabber thing" went up and down but there wasn't a shuttle in it. They thought it was made in the 19teens ( err 1871 or2.) Anyway, if had one drawer in it with some goodies and the fold up box/cover worked well. I was really tired when I got home and wasn't gong to touch it.. Yea right. Bobbin winder is loose and I still can't get the slide open yet. Looking a lot better though. Pics below.

Yes, they are mostly intact mother of Pearl, and no those vibrating shuttles aren't going to work, but the boat shuttles should.

Yea!!! I'm so glad you got that machine! It really needed to go to a home that would appreciate it.

And your serial number is....? Mine are 1135237 929237. I think you use the one on the left which puts mine at 1873. And I’m missing the front board to the cover. Not bad for 144 years old, still sounds beautiful.

But I was shouting! Very excited he got that machine!

I don't think I read that shouting isn't allowed at all, is someone sleeping?

Cathy, thanks for the shouting. When I got to the place it was, no one answered the door and didn't respond to texts. I was crushed. A few minutes later we made the connection and all was well. Whew. I was worried I'
had been sniped.

Janey I had you in mind when I took the shots. Did you see the better shots of the Vigorelli?

NZquilter, Before you said that you weren't after it, I was going to offer picking it up for you. But when you chose no, I chose yes. It will be fun. So excited I'd only seen two before. One in a tiny museum close to you. (Moundridge) and then Sunday I saw jpwest's. Never dreamed on Sunday I would own one Wednesday.
