Nice Wizard Leon. I'm pretty sure I have an early Selectomatic like these pink ones but I think mine is blue. Have no idea where it is though so can't get a pic of it.

You have just pictured the two things that could represent me and my husband: a sewing machine (me) and a guitar (him). It's as if you live in our house ! "Chromium knobbery" was my favorite phrase from your post. SOunds like a good name for a band.

Can't beat the stylish good looks of a pink Atlas. Nor of a beagle in pink

Alas, brass head is no longer with us. He sent a goodbye note, but it was dropped.
