Ok, the Two Spool is finally cleaned up, running smoothly, and ready to work. The pics are of before the clean and after. I apologize for them being turned, I don't know how to rotate them

If you're curious how I got it so shiny, head on over to the rust and pitted post. There are details, and more before and after pics there. Thanks for helping me out with all my questions!

Could you measure the hinge pins and the distance between them? I have a Two Spool head that I want to put into an empty cabinet. I need the hinge pins that she came without.

Thank you for flipping the pics! How do you do that?

As soon as I get home, I'll measure for you.

Thanks in advance for the measurements. Re: the picture, I saved your picture to my PC and then rotated it using IrfanView (available as a free download) and re-posted it.

Ok, the distance between the pins (I measured from the outmost edge of the pin itself, not the hinge) is 9 5/8ths inches.

If you need me to measure from a different spot, or if I have confused you, let me know and I'll take a pic.

The hinge pins appear to be in the same location as Singers, and the base is basically the same size EXCEPT that it's got much rounder corners than the Singers have.

ok- I took the Two Spool out, and a set of Singer pins didn't fit. I didn't try any others - I've got nothing this short with a set pin grove in it. They are too long and bottomed out before going all the way in. They were OK diameter wise. I've found some that are narrower and some wider. This is a Singer barrel hinge, but the pin part is the same as the cabinet pins.

The Singer is the longer set, and you can also see that the grove for the set pin isn't in the right location. So you may want to look specifically for a set of National pins.

BTW - my husband and I are making bases for my assorted Non-Singer treadles, and so far only one will work with Singer hinge pins. I did not expect to find such a variety - and we've been watching and buying machine specific ones on eBay.

Come to think of it, I may have a set of Cabinet hinges that fit a National . . . I need barrel hinges for my bases (cabinet are too wide). My little wards came with a trashed cabinet. I'll have to go look tomorrow when the sun is out (not going out to the shed in the dark).

Thanks for the info. This is the Zenith cabinet that I want to mount my Two Spool into. Now that I know what the hinge ends look like I will look at some of my National sewing machines to see if they want to donated their hinges.
