You are so right! It's not gold! I "inherited" my National Two Spool Treadle -- it belonged to my husband's great grandmother. This is so funny, in a way! It was not my intention to become a collector of antique or vintage sewing machines. I still have my very first machine -- my husband bought it for me at Christmas the first year we were married (1963). I have a couple of Singer 750 Golden Touch'N Sews which my son completely re-furbished. Then, I have my mother's Singer 1425, a 1954 Featherweight, an old Babylock serger that still works great, and now this National Two Spool Treadle machine! When I thought about it, I have nothing BUT VINTAGE OR ANTIQUE MACHINES! LOL!
