Funny how having 3 different models and two variants or two of those models of Howe Machines can sharpen your eye for the odd bits that this machine takes. I just made an agreements with a CL seller to get two completely different looking Johnston rufflers for the Howe. She listed them simply as "odd rufflers" BOTH are clearly for the Howe. Once they arrive, it'll post pics here.Originally Posted by csharp

They arrived yesterday. So far this has been pretty cool...
So my "haul" included an EARLY silver plated tuck marker, three Johnston rufflers (all for different machines), some early hemmer feet, some bed mounted hemmers, a curved needle W&W Bobbin, and one of the coolest boxes ever...

First of all, In the middle of the emails back and forth with the seller, she linked me to THIS thread and my comments about the "CL Seller". too funny!
Second, I was wrong, the one is a Howe for sure (but very different from the first Howe Ruffler) but the second is clearly NOT a Howe. in fact I do not know what machine it is for, yet...
The cleanup is going pretty well.

This is the ruffler that I do not know what machine it goes to

That is so cool. I love the old bits of things we find that most people wouldn't look at twice. I once bought a box of little old glass bottles that I wanted to fill with beads. Thought it would look cool. When I received the box I found that many of the bottles were old prescription bottles with someones name still on them, and the person had the same last name as my family. There were also other papers in the box with the persons name. I figured it was fate that I bought that particular box.

Very cool Steve! Silver plated attachments. About as fancy as it gets and it says something about the worth of these machines to the people who owned them back then. You don't silver plate things that don't matter.
So is the hunt on to find a machine for the other ruffler?
