Default Viscount, needs an unusual part

A friend gave me this, it cleaned up nicely and purrs like a small tiger. There are no plastic or nylon parts. But the plate is hinged and opens to the front. Anyone got one like it or a plate to fit?

Look out folks, she's got a camera and 18 vintage machines. Thank you for the instructions on posting pictures.

redmadder,

She doesn't show one on her site, but when she gets back from vacation you might try Sew-Classics. The front loading design is fairly common on Japanese machines.

I asked her before vacation. Its made in Japan but with no info and no part charts, can't begin to look for one. Anybody got something like this?

redmadder,

Here is a shopgoodwill.com auction with a machine similar to yours. Uses the same type needle and bobbin cover. It might help in your search as it's a name brand.

Thanks Joe. I have a New Home 552 and the plate is too narrow. I can't tell from the picture what model New Home that is but it is a start. Can't wait till that vacation is over. I need a bobbin case for a 15-91 and some oil and maybe a new .6 motor for the 1941 15.
