Default What is a decent offer for these?

I have 2 machines that I need to make an offer on.

This one will only move about 2" either way before it hits a snag and the bottom of the wood base has been set on something that pushed the base in. It's got 3 extra attachments and a bunch of bobbins. It appears to me missing a foot control. The bentwood top is in fantastic shape. SR# FR 2912836. Its got this huge motor that looks like a spincaster fishing reel. Its also got an extra drive thingy that goes on the motor and a spare drive tire.

This is the 2nd machine
It doesn't have anything extra other than 2 bobbins. Mod# R5L 298527 and has JA stamped under the deck.

It's all relative to how badly you want them.

I saw a machine yesterday that I would have been thrilled to take home for 30 dollars 6 months ago. I left it there..no interest, I have one and that one needed work.

However I saw one I really did want and with no power cord, no foot controller and frozen solid, I HAD to have it!

For me, the Morse is a Japanese made..I see them everywhere (I have one) so between 10 and 20 if you want it. *I shoot low. The White, a bit more, but still no controller so...I might lowball and try to get them both for 25 but then again it all depends on the situation.

Thank you for your estimate. I called the Husqvarna (they bought out White Sewing) number and found this machine was manufactured in 1921, in Cleveland OH. The Morse machine is from somewhere around 1955.

The woman I spoke with at Husqvarna was very informative so if you have a need or chance, call and talk about these old machines.

I picked up the Domestic version of the White (White made them both) with everything in a prestine bentwood case, from an antique dealer for $30, They had a bunch like the Morse - and $25 -$30 price tags. The owner said they had been there for quite some time.

Mostly what you pay is based on how badly you want them, though neither of these are uncommon - though if the Morse was pink - then I'd be willing to pay a bit more for it.

Forty or fifty for both together would be a great deal. Good luck!

I offered $40 for the 2 and threw in a bag of chicken feed. Chicken feed runs $15 a bag so the total offer was $55 for the 2. I'll know if it was accepted in the morning.
