Default What do you know..?

I inherited a Riccar sewing machine from my mother. It was given to her by a quilting friend, years ago, who got a new machine. I am new to quilting, started last Feb. Since I joined the QBI have not seen this brand of machine mentioned. Can anyone tell me anything about it. I sews beautifully, it is capable of FMQ, which I have not mastered. I have all the attachments, lots of bobbins, etc.

Baconbit,

The first two links on this page are about Riccar:

They might tell you something.

Do you have a model number? My mother's ZZ 77 Riccar is the only machine I've sold. It went up for sale as soon as I found what the more vintage iron ladies would do. The 77 had all kinds of dial-in stitches Mother nor I used after making a swatch showing what it'd do.

I have a Riccar RZ-208B. It is a nice solid machine, no plastic gears. Rather noisy compared to some of my other vintage machines. The feed dogs do drop but I have not tried it for FMQ.

I have 2 Riccar machines - nice machines, too. I think they are already posted somewhere on here with other Riccar machines - did you search in SEARCH Riccar on the upper right?
