Got this machine yesterday from my brother. It originally belonged to my grand mother. Will have to clean it up. Needs a new belt and then can try if it works. What do you think?

How wonderful for you to receive this beauty. I believe that is called a parlor cabinet. Good for you.

any sewing machine repair service should be able to order you a belt if they don't have one in stock. To the best of my recollections they come with a connector on one end and you install belt, cut to fit and close connection.

I think you can get one from a sewing machine shop or ebay but I think if it were me, I would do a bit of research on line and in the vintage sewing machine shop here on this board. There is a search feature at the top of the page.

That is super cool. Not only is it an awesome machine but it has family importance as well. I do hope you will have someone in your family to pass it along to as well. Enjoy
