Default Featherweight Table

My husband bought me a featherweight many years ago for Christmas. I have always wanted a vintage featherweight table for it but had no luck finding one I could afford.

Recently I was checking Craigslist and found one posted for $50! I was the 4th person who responded to the ad but was the lucky one to bring it home! The lady who owned the table was in her early 90's. She had sold her featherweight many years ago but just could not part with the table. She recently moved in with her daughter who was in the process of building a new house. When it came time to move, the daughter asked her mom if they could sell the table. Mom was reluctant to let it go. She had bought it new in 1956.

I told them about my featherweight "Miss Ruby" who was named after my mother. I told them it would be going to a home where it would be appreciated. I think the others who had responded want to resell it to make money.

So here is Miss Ruby on display in her new "old" vintage 1956 featherweight table!!!

The table is in lovely shape. I'm sure the owner is grateful it is in a good home.

Beautiful table. There was a featherweight table advertised at a garage sale this weekend, but our temperature of 108 kept me home. I know there will be another one someday. You got a beauty!
