Default Wheeler & Wilson Treadle Sewing Machine

Hello! I have just come across my grandma's old Wheeler & Wilson treadle sewing machine. I took it home to clean it up and I got most of the parts running and working. It is in pretty good condition considering it sat in her basement for many years. My only problem is that the bobbin is missing from it. I would like to get it in full working condition. I was wondering if anyone knew what the bobbin would look like or where I could find one. I'm not sure if there is another piece besides the bobbin that I am missing or not. I do not have the manual for it either. I have attached pictures of the machine as well as where the bobbin would be placed. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You have a beautiful machine and cabinet. I've never seen a cabinet so gorgeous. Don't ever get rid of it. Keep it.

Welcome. Beautiful cabinet.

I always like seeing sewing machines stay in the family. My sister has the treadle that she learned to sew on.

Interesting as the bobbin area appears to be a #8 rather than "9" as shown on the machine. I think the 8 is thinner than the number 9 and both are called "bagel bobbins."

From my understanding there is a group that focuses on the early domestic W&W machines at https://groups.io/g/Wheeler_and_Wilson-Sewing-Machines

If I remember correctly they take a different needle.

Beautiful "clean up!" You'll love how it stitches.

Beautiful #9. The bobbin and bobbin case are missing. The pair turn up on ebay and Bonanza for around $30 and are fairly common. The W&W IO group can help with a manual, bobbin case pics, and other useful information. There is also a facebook group. You want #9 info and parts, not D9.

Singer bought W and W and rebadged this machine and called it a W9 perhaps it may have the bobbins you seek.

Welcome from NE Ohio. What a beautiful cabinet. Hope you can find the bobbins, I'm sure you'll have lots of enjoyment.
