Unhappy White 764 Machine help

Hi Everybody, I am lucky to own a White 764 Zig Zag Machine. Unfortunately the knob for the tension got lost. Either way I never really knew what it should be set to. Any ideas? and how would I thread it correctly? Thanks!

Here are a few places that has the manual. Etsy is downloadable and the other two will send you a paper copy.

I just Googled the White 764 and there were a number of videos available about the machine and several web site to check out information on this machine. I would check out the videos to try and figure out the tension. Also to see what the parts that you need to replace. I have an older white machine and the tension is very different than any machine I have ever seen.

Actually, you can get a free manual from https://www.singer.com/support When you put 764 in the box for the model, there should be 3 results. The one for this machine is "W764." It really isn't a real clear manual, but it is free.

Indeed there are several youtube videos for this machines.

There are some threads regarding the White model 764 here on Quilting Board as I'm sure you have seen.
