Default White sewing machine model 1466

Wondering if anyone has owned a White Model 1466 sewing machine and if it is a good machine to buy?

It's going to depend in part on what you pay. I did a quick search, and did not see a picture for this specific model, but White had about a gazillion variations and model numbers to go with each. I'm guessing this might be a machine from the 1970s?, and in my area it's worth about $25...maybe. Look for plastic gears, cams, etc inside and underneath. If it's all metal there tend to be fewer problems and risks, or maybe I'm just more comfortable trying to clean up all metal machines.

I did a little research and supposedly it is an all metal machine, they are asking $45 for it in a cabinet. I am contemplating taking a chance on it.

It looks like a couple on QB have had them, but not much about how they worked. Neither of the users that had this machine have been on for a while https://www.quiltingboard.com/vbulle...a-t292194.html The video linked in that thread is still valid, but the correct link for the manual can be found at https://www.singer.com/en-ca/support by putting W1466 in the search box.

yes, it's a VERY VERY VERY good machine. It sews through anything, smooth as butter! I love mine & would not part with it. If someone has one & it doesn't work...it's rare. They probably abused it (ie: dropped, threw, hit it) clean it, oil it & it won't let you down
