Default White treadle machine - looking for insight

    Hi y'all:
A friend has a hand me down White treadle machine sitting her basement. She has no idea on value, and I am not sure how to research info on White's.

    She says:
It is a White number FR2356442

That sounds to me like it could be a serial number? Where could I look those up?
    Thanks.
    Maggie

White Family Rotary is one of the most popular sewing machines ever made. Lots of stuff on the web, here's a good start:

These are excellent sewing machines and still practical to sew on so hopefully it will find a good home.

Check your local Craig's List for sewing machines for a few weeks. After a while you'll get a feel for prices in your area. Whites are good machines but common. $100 would be the high end of the scale for that machine in my area. Your area may be more or less. Too many variables to be accurate.

Well it's just my lucky day (after I didn't win Powerball). The owner of this machine is going to GIVE it to me - no charge. I gave her something about a year ago, and she wants to reciprocate. How about that! Now to make room....

Lucky you, what a nice gift! Have fun with it, look at the links that were given, make sure to clean it and oil it, there are things on you tube to help you out. Congrats.
