Wilcox & Gibbs
HELP!! Can anyone refer me to websites or places where I might be able to get needles for a machine I just acquired? It is a Wilcox & Gibbs chain stitcher serial number B587655 and a model 64 I believe. I don't know what year because all I can find is a dating chart for the series A machines. I have it functioning, but the needle was broke so I can't tell if it will fully function or not. I really want to see this little sweetie in action. Thank you in advance for any information and/or help you can give. Thanks, Maggie.

If anyone has the needles you need for a Willcox and Gibbs, he will. He is in the UK but, his shipping costs are usually minimal.

Maggie,
How many and what size needle are you looking for? I can send you a few size 12 at no cost. Also, I know a source if you want size 12, or 16 and above, ( no 14 available) if willing to get 100 of a single size. I am having trouble posting the address, s go to Allbrands.com search for WGx64.

Hi Maggie
Free is tough to beat and $65/100 is great for heavy use. Usually overseas shipping is high. Another option is W&G needles sold on ebay, new old stock, in a wooden tube marked "Boye" with "20-1/2" stamped on cap. Definitely worth having an ebay account for any sewing supplies as the Sew n Vacs are fading away, at least around here. The Boye needles are expensive but if the machine is used only on occasion not too terrible.

Yep, the Sew and Vac here just closed in July and I missed it Grrrrrr.
The Alllbrands Organ needles were tested by collectors well versed in testing for alternate needles. The chart can be found on ISMACS. There are Groz-Beckert out there. I previously purchased size 14, but my one source, in US, no longer has any. Another source for packs of 10 is Bob Kovar of Toledo Industrial SM Call 866-362-7397 or 419 380-8540. You may get Organ, Boye or old stock. I have gotten all different ones.
