I like the idea of one block, then it is up to us what we do with it, it is big enough to add a bit for a wall hanging and small enough to make table runner with several, or quilts with several more. Great idea. And by the way Dhanke, the green was perfect, very nice wall hanging, it would work great in my office.

I enlarged it to 12 1/2" unfinished to match the Star in this way:

Flying geese for each corner patch are made from one feature fabric measuring 3"x 5 1/2" and two background squares 3"x3". The two HSTs for each corner patch are from one feature fabric square 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" and one background square 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" (same HST method used for Star). Trim resulting two HSTs to 3" square. Make four corner patches that will measure 5 x 1/2" x 5 1/2" each.

The sashing pieces are 2 1/2" x 5 1/2". The center block is 2 1/2" x 2 1/2".

Assemble patches, sashing pieces, center block in rows as you would a nine patch block.

Here is my ready-to-quilt table topper that will be a hostess gift if I get it done by the weekend!
Yum, yum, yum, love this.

DHANKE I absolutely love your little wall quilt. That owl fabric was a perfect choice and you always do such lovely work. It reminds me of a fine piece of jewelry. When I first saw the picture it reminded me of an antique broach. Its gorgeous.

Well, I do apologize - yesterday I missed some on the postings and didn't comment. Wasn't feeling up to snuff and was a bit ditzie I guess.

Chase, your runner is to die for. It is beautiful.

Angelia love the pink block with the pale center, very pretty

Blue adorable houses with this block. They all go together like they were made for each other!

dhanke love the wall hanging, with the border it is a perfect finish!

Well, who'da thought one block could inspire so many different amazing outcomes . Terrific stuff!

Here's my block - haven't done anything else with it yet tho lol.

I like that, apart from the background, it's charm-square-friendly

Thanks again Judy.

I think I'll change out a couple of corners because they don't really work. I didn't notice until I took the picture. I think I'm going to make placemats out of them, if I have enough fabric left.
