Candi your block looks beautiful. Yet another method to do needleturn, not heard of that method before. Very interesting. I love your background fabric.

Good for you Candi - I love to see people trying something here that that they wouldn't have ever considered on their own. It happened with the DJ quilt, and though some are still struggling to finish because life got in the way, they don't seemed to have got discouraged.

I hope the same will happen with this quilt, don't forget it still hasn't officially started, so we will soon be having more blocks being posted, and I am sooooo looking forward to that.

Your blocks look lovely, and not a boo boo in site. I use a similar method to you for my circles, but in their case, I just gather them, rather than clip. Then I iron them to set the gathers, before allowing them to cool, and then stitching on. I rarely get problems with them doing them that way.

Oh, well! At least we're still next to the top. We don't have to go searching for it!

Happy Mother's Day to all.

Thanks Elle and Lesley.
Lesley,
I haven't been clipping around my circles and those have been turning out mostly ok, but your gathering sounds interesting. I think I will try it.

Happy Mother's Day!

New thing the Board has started because it seems a lot of people like to do challenges, like finish all our UFO´s etc, its quite interesting to read.

Oh....we're NOT the top anymore????.....what a pity..LOL..I'll have to go check it out! :D:

Candi, that method sound kinda similar to the way I do it with freezer paper. I found that clipping does NOT work for me except in those more pronounced curves or innies. Maybe you can try just gathering like Lesley says and it will work better for you. Otherwise...its all a learning curve, right?? :D:

I think it's probably a handy section to have, my objection is that it isn't within the alphabetical listing. O does not come before A. (Neither does C, come to that) Humph. (LOL).

Check out page 26 of this thread Candi - I posted a couple of pics there on various methods. I don't cut off my gathering thread, just use it to stitch the circle down.
