Wonderful and another rather striking colour combination. When you have a lot going on in your life it is difficult to concentrate so well done you......my hat is off to you

Patty - love your center blocks, wonder what you are planning for your inside border?

Patty, I could find the 2 that need embroidery, but for the life of me can't see one that needs the center redone! They look great! Sorry you are having drama right now, but maybe being able to plug along on this project can help....you've sure done a great job!

It's the block that's in the second row and is second from the left. I shouldn't have made the center the same color as the leaves. I'm even thinking of making smaller leaves and put them between the orange ones for some added umpf. ;)

Well, I actually bought some really pretty striped fabric that would have worked perfectly -- I think. Unfortunately, I left it in the storage unit in Virginia when we quickly "got outta Dodge." I even had the bag in my hand and decided, "Nah. I probably won't have any way to sew on the border back in Michigan." I did bring my fabric for the blocks; just not the border fabric. It had 6 rows of a floral stripe that I thought would work really well. It even had black on each side of the stripe! I'm going to do an online search and see if I can locate it so I can show it to you all. Would love to get your opinions!

You are right about it being a help. However, I can see my anxiety and stress in my work on the last few blocks. Isn't that odd? The last one I did was the one in the upper right corner. It is very clear that the center design is full of "stress" and the outer hearts are "calm." The center design was completed during the last week we were in Virginia, and the outer hearts were completed early last week while staying with my dear friend Barb.

;)

Patti, I went back & checked and I think that block is beautiful just the way it is. That is your interpretation of the block and I think it is beautiful.

Patti - I think it looks great too!! it's funny how we look at our own blocks differently from everyone else. I've made a couple of changes to mine after it was 'done' ...not that one - havent tackled it yet. If you are not quite happy with it, try some embroidery in a contrasting color. I usually take a thread of two different colors for my stem stitch and it adds an extra sparkle - even two different golds...again I think the block looks fine, but if you want to add a sparkle - don't add petals, you can put some gold stem stitch around alternate petals - or just the middle ones, lay the thread over it as squint a little to get the impression.
But again - once it's quilted it will look amazing.
