Roxanne, I think that looks great! Yours is even another color combo for us to admire! The embroidery will change it so much too...I think it looks great!

I love it, Roxanne. Where did you get that multicolored fabric and who's it by?

Thanks! It's a print by Cranston--probably bought at either Walmart or Joann's, but don't remember. All my fabric with the exception of my black background will be coming from my stash and scrap bin.

Thanks! The embroidery is easier than thought it would be. Although I have to admit, I had to go to UTube and look up tutorials as the picture in the book just didn't work for me. I also had to pull out a lot of stitches as they just looked like \\\\\\\ and I couldn't figure it out. The problem I'm having is the thread knotting and I'm experimenting with number of strands. My first block has 3 strands on the first heart and 2 on the 2nd....I can't decide which I like better.

I did have that problem too with the knotting. Found it helped to do short lengths, I know its a pain but I prefer to do it that way that have to tug and eventually turn the air blue.

Your block is great no problems with that one that I can see and when you put the embroidery on it, they seem to change then too and I found any small glitches can sometimes be covered up at that point, well it did on mine

Looking good Roxanne - well done for persevering, and I love the fabric choice too.

Roxanne, another thing to consider when doing the embroidery is which way you are threading the thread through the needle. If it is winding around itself and tangling a lot....unthread and stick the other end through the needle and try it that direction. Threads are actually directional and will work better one way vs. the other. I usually thread the end I cut through the needle. You'll also get better with the stitches as you go along.

Elle, I tried using shorter lengths this morning and had a little more luck (still some knotting).

Patti, I usually do thread the cut end of the thread . My knots seem to occur midway a run and knot when pulling the thread thru. I try to be very careful and keep my thread straight and pulled down while making the stitch so I'm not sure what is causing the problem.

Another question for ya'll---how do you get the back to look clean? I'm ashamed of the back of mine! Good thing it will be covered over.

Block 9 finished
