Meanmom, That is a really different chili recipe! Can't wait to try it. I'm like Caroline, if I serve it with anything, it would be rice, but it's usually cornbread. Thanks for sharing.

Well yes another day waiting, another day closer. Do you all know that Saturday is National Quilting Day? 3rd Saturday of March each year. I will have to see what time the information is posted. I may take it with me to do while my quilt guild has an exhibition for National Quilt Day at the community center.

Here is the info on history of NQD - http://nqaquilts.org/natqday/

Chili sounds wonderful. May have to try that one but is going to be back in the 80's today so maybe this weekend only will cut the porportions down alittle since there is just one of me. Does it freeze well?

Our quilt guild is having a 2-day display at a local museum. Several of the members have antique quilts they are loaning for the exhibit. I'll be a "quilt angel" on Sunday afternoon. Lots of ideas are about to fill my head!

I have a question, did not want to make a new post on this so thought to ask one of the busier threads, but what do you consider earth tones? I consider earth tones to be blues, greens, browns, and a brown red could be in that as well. I am making a quilt and I really considered it to be earth tones, but the DH and DD said only sorta. Where am I wrong? I did put in a neutral of an off white/tan. No, I don't have a photo of the fabric, but just thought the color scheme was right on. What did I miss?

Yep, that is what I thought as well. In fact, there is some dark gray fabric I am using as well. I knew I was not off my rocker with this quilt. I just wanted another quilter opinion for my sanity. When I pick colors, I generally throw in one contrast to add some zing, which I may in the border of this quilt, but the rest are all in this range of colors. Even the neutral is the right shade to fit in.

Here's what I was working on at my retreat. Blocks are from a swap. There will be 11 quilts from this swap hanging at the quilt fest in Ireland this summer. My block is the one in the center. I'll have to see if I can get this top done before our clue on saturday.

Quiltermomma - it may be the blue that has your hubby and daughter confused. Some people consider blue as air or water. I think it goes anywhere you want it to!

Pam, What a unique quilt! I love it. Glad to hear you made it out of your driveway and on to your retreat.

They did not even see the block with the blue, they saw the brown, neutral, and green together with the red/brown center. A churn dash block. I wonder if I would have enough left overs to be able to do the table runner in the fabric. That is a good question, hey Judy, could we do this in scraps?
