Just e-mailed this pic to DD, told her I had been laying bricks all day
I used a whole bobbin on the background fill for this block. DH is back to work early tomorrow morning so I plan on doing a lot of quilting while he is away

Actually I'm not so sure you are any less productive with DH in residence!
Amazing brickwork and door crosshatching and turrets ...... and..... and.......
Yes, you are Miracle MiraB, as you were tagged the other day!
Q&A Time, Ladies .........
Please and Thanks!!!
What width/length would you do, as a generic multi-functional use table runner?
(when you do not know who will get it, and what size of table, etc.)
Likewise, what do you find is the most useful runner size for a buffet or other side table?
I'm starting to think of the exchange gift for my "adopted" family Christmas. This year I'm thinking a runner, possibly with placemats. I want to allow for the most flexibility that I can, being that I have no clue who will get it. Colour scheme is likely to be neutrals -- creams or whites with golds. Think elegance! (and the fact that it will fit with most people's decor year round)
Today I start Fr♥sty Too!
(and overnight some pebbly snow ... and just 1-1/2 hour drive away, they had five inches of the white stuff!)

Good morning! For a table runner that will remain on the table during meal time I think one about 13-15" x 26-30" works great--this size wouldn't interfere with the place settings and will accommodate the more narrow tables. As for the buffet 15" wide is about right and no more than 48". JMHO.
I like the creams and golds idea. I'm working on a simple checkerboard with 50 2 1/2" cut squares and a blue paisley gold metallic border. This is a 50th anniversary gift. One of the CB fabrics is a metallic gold paisley on cream background. This is really simple but very pretty. Need to get it finished.
Have to be in town in 45 minutes so better go. Catch you all later. Keep your snow an 1 1/2 away QE!

No snow here; just cold weather which is good since the refrigerator is not working. Second repair job in less than 10 days...and this time he has to order a part that may or may not be here by Thursday. That is when they will deliver the new one... which will come first???and you can bet the new one is not a Maytag!!!
Anael, thinking about you, missing you on QB, and hope things will go better for you! {[(Hugs)]}
Mirabelle, I really wish some of that rain would come down here; you have too much and we need the moisture in the soil here....its much too dry. You have outdone yourself in the that lovely castle. Beautiful brick laying job.
Dublb and DD, so happy to hear from you...if just a short note!!
I am sooooo wanting to sew!!!!

I haven't been doing much sewing, but did get this sample block made for a friend today. She is going to make her mom a quilt using these fabrics...she will alternate a big block with a bunch of flowers with the D9P block. My friend is in Florida and she wanted flannel...her mom is in Iowa. Her mom's favorite flower is the rose, so when I told her about this fabric she was very excited.
