I am also using my scrap fabric for this quilt. I don't have many 1930 pieces.

I'm going to do scrappy too.

I'm still waiting for my book. I pre-ordered it with a release date of 26th June so I'm hoping it won't be too much longer.

Not long to go until the start!

I have a question, I googled images of farmers wife quilt, is this basically a Dear Jane quilt w/o the fancy triangle borders?

I've made two Dear Jane quilts and that's what attracted me to the Farmer's Wife quilt. They're similar in that they're both sampler-type quilts, but the Dear Jane blocks are smaller and there's quite a bit of needle-turned applique. It doesn't look like there's any applique in the Farmer's Wife quilt.

Here is the cover of the book..
This book is the third one by Laurie Aaron Hird..It is called The Farmers Wife 1930"s Sampler Quilt...The blocks are 6" and are done up in 1930"s repro fabrics.. You can see on the cover of the book the layout she chose to do the quilt...

What is special about this book is that each block represents an actual farmer's wife letter from a magazine The Farmer's Wife during that era shown on the same page with the block..

The blocks in this quilt range from easy to challenging and if you love paper piecing this book is for you!

My skill level is definitely beginner, and these blocks are going to be challenging for me. I'll just have to be very patient and not stress over it. If I can do the first couple A's, I'll know I can do the rest.

I've done some PP but not on this level and not doing separate sections and then joining them together. I'll have to be really careful with that.
