ok guys,

we need to voice opinion on this

"a general DJ chit/chat thread for people to talking about whatever - we haven't come up with a location for this thread yet and whether its a new thread every week or a long running thread."

need to know, where you'd like to have this posted and does it change weekly/at the end of every "week off" period/never ending thead for 18 months.

i'm leaning towards putting up a new DJ chit/chat at the end of every "week off" period.

i can post pics of the fabric prize for that period and announce who won the fabric prize for the last work period.

well, you take NYer and a scientist and wrap that into one person and you end up with someone who's very direct and a little bit of a social misfit.

thats me, everything is reduced down to a "need to know" conversation.

but if you ever want to deconstruct or over analyze anything - i'm your girl.

DH and i can talk for 3 hours deconstructing one song or one quilt.

Too Funny. Klue you are an angel to take this on and all of the different personalities. Patience must be one of your virtues. If not, it will be by the end if the year.

my quilt is laid out on the diagonal so i made a folder for the blocks that run in each diagonal because i don't want to use the same fabric in any 2 blocks that touch each other.
Klue you are talking about the different red fabrics not touching, right, not the indigo.

I think a weekly chit chat would be perfect and easier to follow

I agree.... I think we need a new one every week, otherwise it's too hard to find things.

yes, you should label your blocks because we really won't have a completed row to sew together until really late into the year.

how people want to set it up might be best depending on the type of layout and design they're using.

That sounds like a lot of hard work! LOL

I'll have to keep mine organised for the same reason, so that the same fabrics aren't next to each other.

I like the idea of a weekly chat because I will be trying to focus on finishing the blocks and trtying not to sit at the computer to look at everyones great work and comments :D

Is it possible to "lock " (don't know if this is the right word) the thread so it will stay at top? this is a long project and i don't think it will drop too far on the list but it would be nice for it to be easily accesible

You can use a bookmark for each one, that makes it easy to find. :-)

I use them a lot, while we're in bed sleeping most of you guys are awake and chatting, so a lot happens while I'm not here. Bookmarks make it easy to find threads I was reading, and along with the "watch this thread" thing, I don't think I miss too much.

STAR 11-09-2009 12:30 PM

Thanx Blue I never thought of bookmarking a current thread :D
