I've been waiting since last Thursday to post pictures for 5 & 6. Now I have clear up to #15 done, and two of Broken dishes, one will be a potholder (alittle on the small side). Using a mix of Kansas Troubles, Buggy Barn, Thimble berries and a few other odds and ends.

# 5 - Bat Wing

#6 - Big Dipper

Just got 5 & 6 done of the Christmas blocks. I'm not doing #7 for the second quilt. Those tiny triangles drove me nuts.

Gee Whiz---Do you think if we ever do a potholder swap---I'm wondering how many of them will be Block #7 from the FWS Quiltalong    !!! I know of 2 so far!

After seeing all these beautiful xmas blocks I know I'm going to have to do some--maybe just the easy ones--I don't need anymore potholders !!

I love the Christmas blocks.

Speaking of potholders, I have a feeling I'm going to end up with 100 potholders--I love making blocks but don't like the quilting part. Hopefully with all the encouragement I'm getting here I'll make a quilt. If not: I'll be ready for potholder exchanges thru the year 2025 LOL!!

I'm thinking my potholders will all be #7!! Good to know I'm not alone!

I came to work today thinking to myself "I'm going on the FWS board and just vent about this stupid #7" and now I don't even feel like I have to do that since it seems others are struggling with #7 also!

Misery (and frustration) loves company!

LOL! When I read this thread's posts, I had to go into my sewing room and count my "pot holder" blocks and I have 3 so far. We really should have a pot holder exchange after this is over, huh? I thought I'd take some and make decorative pillows out of them to match the quilt!

I started this block the second time by doing the very bottom 2 rows of the birds first-it's a small triangle in itself--then I did the top row of birds making sure they are nice and straight- -then I sewed them together--the thing is try not to handle them too much-Starch or whatever you use really helps before you even cut the fabric for this block--I even trimmed off the seam allowance on the paper template to measure my little birds(place paper on right side of the sewn piece to see if it fits in the section you've sewn. If the paper fits in nicely you're ok if there's too much room or if the paper doesn't sit in there--you have to rework the piece.
