I cut mine with the fan ruler, a little thinner than the dresden ruler I got by Darlene Zimmermen. I had to use 24 blades to get it to lay flat. I made 30 plates, think I will have enough for two quilts. probably took me 2-3 weeks. It is matchy matchy. Next I want to do either a scrappy or RWB. We'll see, as I usually change my mind and do a different pattern altogether.

Everyone's plates are so beautiful. Sorry to butt in.

OMGoodness Sulabug, those blocks are simply gorgeous....of course they're done in my colors. That's going to make a very striking quilt.

Other's blocks are pretty too, I haven't done mine yet, but I have big plans to do it.lol

wooooohooooooo!!!! I did it!! I have cut and pieced Jan Whirling star 3 times trying to figure out why the pieces did NOT fit.... After cutting #4 I noticed that I had not added 1/4 seam allowance on the top of trapezes.. Needless to say when you smarten up and cut all pieces as should be cut ,they do fit. I got so exasperated with it I set it aside and started on the March bom. it went together like a sweet dream. I started late and have stumbled along for awhile but will soon be caught up with you. [ hopefully] I am hand piecing my boms and excited to finally have sucess on 3 blocks . will try to post pics when I get this pc figured out so I can load . I have sewn block patterns but these are stretching my ability. I love all the posts here there are some beautiful blocks here.

Got it done! My hand sewing leaves a lot to be desired...but I did it and I love it. Have to make 3 four inch blocks and the bottom half of the quilt is sewn together and done...now for the next six months. Have loved these blocks, they make an interesting quilt....

I finished mine also, well almost. The Dresden plate finished one inch too large. BUT I have lot's of fabric to make another. Overall, this has been my favorite block to do and will end up as a pillow.
