Eathwalker, I'd be glad to send you some cooler temps. We are happy here, as we've had 2 days in a row with above Zero temps for highs...HA!! If you would just send us 30 or 40 degrees, we could experience a January thaw. : )

I'm sure we'd love to send you some warmth. South Aussie is going through it's second heatwave with temps over 40C in 3 weeks. All I can do is send you a warm hug.

We are heading to the beach tonight!

I don't know how to put a recent thread I posted on this thread, but if you'll search "keeping warm without power" you'll find how to make a room heater using clay pots and those little tea light candles. I haven't tried it yet, but others say it works?

Cold wind and snow, or blazing heat. Well over in UK we have plenty of water. High tides and rain making rivers swell and overflows. Houses shops and fields. They keep saying we are due snow, having scattered burst but does not stay.
When it rains the wind is very strong and within minutes roads are flooded and small rivers running down slopes. Even walking on Tarmac pavements you find deep puddles. Friday walking home went through puddle and expensive leather knee boots let in water through the zip. Just lucky by me we have no deep or heavy flood warnings.
The nights get dark early and not sure why but it becomes cold just after 2.00pm.

Quilting oh yes but I put bunting up outside my friends shop each month. February is done they are all betting when I take my snowmen down it will snow, but valentine is a set day. So Monday hearts go up.

Just wondering, for all of you in the cold areas that have to have heat on 24/7 just how much are your heating bills? I live in AZ and we had a cold spell a few mths ago and I was upset when I got my heating bill even tho I know it is nothing compared to what you all must pay. Just curious, our high bills are in the summer with the 115 and over heat waves.

It's raining and sleeting and freezing right now in the Northeast part of Arkansas and I'm freezing!!! I'm ready for a heat wave of say...50 degrees...haha I have an electric heater in my sewing room so I sit next to it when I'm sewing. I make sure nothing is touching it. Oh, I keep my door shut too. Keeps all that wonderful warm heat in my room.

No church service tonight because of the hazardous road conditions. By morning there will probably be school closings too.

So glad my hubby has retired. Now I don't have to fret over him being out in this kind of weather. He worked for our local utility company and retired in Jan. It's nice to sit with him in the warm house and drink a hot cup of coffee knowing he doesn't have to be out in this nasty weather.
