In de-cluttering around here I've found a huge amount of what I guess is either poly or nylon, an Air Force parachute. (Up until the mid 90s we had an AF base here) so we found it in a yard sale.
Way too much fabric to waste, can't make myself toss it.

Oh dear God no. I am petrified of hights lol. I use that material to line my dogs bedding and pillow for them and us.
Take it apart and cut it into yardage and hang on to it. It will come in handy one day.

Oh my goodness!!!! That made me remember when DH had to go into a nursing home about 7 years ago. We were clearing out a bunch of stuff in the garage and DD wanted the complete parachute for her classroom or school, right outside Ft. Hood. The one the school had was frayed and had holes in it. The kids used it for bouncing balls on it I think. Hand to eye coordination perhaps. This one didn't have all the lines to it so I kept it. Yes, sleeping bag storage might be a good thing. Then all I have to do is figure out what to do with the 700 yards (seems like it)
of fabric left.
