Earthquakes in oklahoma!
Mercy! We had a earthquake here about 11 or so last nite and it felt like it was moving our whole house!
The news says it was a 5.6. And we were having aftershocks that were 3.+ for a while afterwards.
Use to be you never heard of a earthquake here and it seemed very unlikely that you would. But lately we have been having some small ones. Tonites was the first really scary one.I almost dread going outside tomorrow, cause I don't know how it would have not done any damage to the house. Funny how these things seem to happen in the nite when you can't go outside and see anything. hmmmmm.
But, this is the second nite in a row that we had one. And the nites before wasn't no small quake either. It shook our house pretty good. They have pics on the news of buckled roads here.
Times, they are a changin.

I experienced several while living in California - scary to say the least - just remember not to run outside at least at night- live light wires could have fallen. Also go to an inside hall - do NOT stand in doorways! These were all things I learned while living out in CA - just try to be safe - but I know how scary these can be - and your heart pounds till it is over and if the aftershock is strong - you feel like "here we go again" - not a great feeling.

I felt a jolt and a photo I have on a spring balanced frame began to swing back and forth. I told my son I felt an earthquake jolt and he just laughed until this morning he read the news and checked the time. I live in SE New Mexico quite a distance from OK so it must have been a deep earthquake. I am a retired teacher and have a degree in Geology Sciences so knew it had to be an earthquake somewhere, was surprised it was from such a distance. If I had not been quietly reading I probably would not have noticed it. My granddaughter goes to school at OU so am waiting to here what she has to say.
