She is wearing jewelry in the photo. Maybe a new Mothers ring. Thank you for sharing the photo with us. It is very good. /Regards, Dorothy

What a beautiful trio of woman!! You all take good care of yourselves. Bravo!

Gifts- I can't come up with anything that hasn't always been mentioned. I always gave my grandmother notecards because she used so many....

Eight boys?! Deafness would almost be a blessing. Sounds like a fun lady ;-)

I like the memory book idea. How 'bout having everyone who will be attending the birthday party writing a special memory or two and making up a photo album of the attendees and including their written memories?

Are you a scrapper at all? Make up some pages with blanks for letters and take instant photos of everyone at the party....let them write her a message and then put their photo next to it... I did that for my mom one year, she loved it, and when she went to hospice, it went with her...

Make her a purse...or maybe just give her flowers?

What are her interests... does she have a computer... set up a skype account with you. Setting it up on both computers is free...just google Skype and go from there. Does she have a favorite restaurant? What does she like to do... go for her interests.. good luck she looks like a lovely lady. Happy Birthday to her!

Have each special person in her life write her a letter and put them in a book along with a picture of that person. And the little one could draw a nice picture of one of their favorite things.

Does she like pets? Maybe a kitten to keep her company or a new puppy? I know they can be work to take care of, but also a lot of company...

Also, I am a scrapbooker, and any time my family gives me stuff to use, or pages already done to add to my books, I love it.

I also quilt, and a memory quilt with pictures of the family would be something she could show off and snuggle under while watching TV and enjoy for years to come.

Does she exercise much? Maybe membership to a local gym or take her to the senior center to make new friends. A camera is also nice, she can document the things she has done and capture moments of everything she plans to do.

How about asking her what she wished she had tried (maybe not think skydiving or bungi jumping, altho...) in her life or places that she never got to see, and try to fulfill that wish for her.
