Happy 21st birthday to your daughter! What a wonderful picture of the two of you.

My daughters are 32 and 26 now and are two of my best friends.

You both are beautiful. My daughters are over 500 miles away and we talk a couple times a week, so are still close, but sure miss seeing the grands more often. She will always be your 'little' girl!

WELLLL and so it begins. When I left her and the semi BF last night after dinner they were off to the movies then to do some first time bar hopping. I made the BF promise not to drink at all and to take care of her which he enthusiastically did. (he made points) The last thing I told them is to call me no matter what time when she got home safe so I would not have to worry. Guess what??? No call, no sleep. I called her this morning. She answered groggy and I said are you OK? She said yes. I said Good and bye. I remember doing this "worry if they are safe" thing with DH when we were first married. Didn't want to do that again. Oh well here I am. I have history with alcoholism and drunk driving. I worry more then I should but they know me and why I am like I am. Can't change history. I hope she gets over this soon.

I think that we all fear the 21st birthday for all of the same reasons. All we can do is pray and hope that the novelty wears off soon, and that they remember all we have taught them. There is nothing wrong with "check up/in" calls

I don't think so but I just talked to her and she said "I thought you were kidding" Yeah biggest joke in the world. "call me let me know you are ok"
