There are a lot of tutorials out there with different techniques & shapes. You can even make "no sew" ones. Just google "I Spy Bag Tutorials" & you will surely find something you like. The one I linked to earlier is not one I am going to use but just wanted to show what they are. I like this one below even though I can't understand the German. I like how she's framed the plastic.

I liked how it had a little laminated treasure map to go along with it so it would hold the child's interest rather then finding random treasures. You could even write a little story.

I made one for a great nephew; since I never seem to throw anything away, I added some kiddo things but some practical things and 2 to 3 year old would learn the names of; a key, paperclip, small eraser (some are animal shaped), a button, small cork, all sorts of little things. You'd be surprised at what you will think of once you start looking around. I also made a 'list' of the items in the bag, so the adult can say, can you find the - whatever. So they know what is in it.

Default Thrift shops.... I love 'em!

I have about half a dozen of this type store near me. I have no need to buy toys anymore,but I know they do have a lot!! And.... cheap!!
