I had a "girls day" yesterday with several long time friends and we were talking about our regrets, and also what we enjoyed and wish we could do again from when we were younger.
(Our weddings and having our children were ruled out since they're too obvious).

I said I wish I'd gotten my Bachelor's BEFORE having my kids. Not only was it cheaper back then :) :) but it sure would have been alot easier to make ends meet when I was a single mom.
Fortunately my children saw how I struggled and they finished college before they got married so alot of good came out of it.
One of my friends said she wished she could go back and let her French grandmother to teach her French and agree to go to France with her when she was invited...twice!! We all smacked her....how could even a kid be so dense not to go to France if invited??? :) :)

The others all had interesting or funny things too.

Does anyone here have regrets you'd like to un-do, or enjoyed something so much you wish you could go back and enjoy it again?

If I could do it over again? Hummm. Changing the past would not work for me. My past, good and bad is what has made me who I am. It was hard, but I made it through those hard time, and let me tell you...it was HARD! LOL...but for grins and giggles, I would not have married my first husband....

There's only one thing wrong with 'do overs', they change the end results.... so even w/my nasty childhood and then the poor choices, big mistakes and difficult times I endured as I journied through life, I would have to say I would not do anything different. Life is good - I struggled to get here, but I'm where I want to be :)

I would have kept my mouth shut more often! I can't now so what makes me think I could if I were given the opportunity for a do over?

It's absolutely true whatever we've gone through has indeed made us what/who we are. I agree totally.
But everyone must have something they would do again or un-do???

What I would change has been ruled out.

I would have talked my husband into buying a house at a younger age. Is grandmother offered us her 3 story home in the city with a full basement and full attic for $17,000. My husband wanted nothing to do with the city (Albany, NY).
So we declined.

Three years later a fellow who worked with my husband had who had bought the house sold it for $130,000. I could kick my DH.

My DH did not want to own property. Now that we have a little over 2 years left to pay on the house, he agrees I was right all along.

I told him, "I know, that's why my mug reads "Mrs. Always Right!"!

:) :) :)

I decided to finish school before getting married, and now sorry I made that decision. Don't want kids anyhow, so can't see what difference it would have made. There would be 2 less lonely people in the world is all.

But, live and learn!
