I just came from a Thrift Store where I saw the prettiest Singer Spartan Sewing machine.....needed a needle as the one in it was broken. It worked smoothly by hand and all the cords and foot pedal looked in great condition. It was so pretty.....and only $9.98. I only had $7.00 on me. BIIIIG sigh!!!

Anyone here know anything about these? I did a little research when I got home and wanted to turn right around and go back and get her, but I had things I have to do.

I think I will go back tomorrow and if she is still there I'll get her. It is amazing an antique sewing machine can invoke such emotion....lol.

Well, maybe it will still be there when you go back. If it isn't then it just wasn't meant to be. I don't know anything about that machine. Any idea how old it is?

I'm thinking '50's or early '60's but it could be older......I just don't know. But it looked sweet......lol!

NEVER, NEVER NEVER walk out on a good deal -- especially at a Thrift Store!!! Take it from me....I've left MANY things and gone back the next day and it was gone!!!! I hope it'll be there for you.

I do too. I'll be there when it is open at 9am in the morning. If it is meant to be mine it will still be there! Keep your fingers crossed..... :D

I'm hoping for you. If it's still there post a picture of it. We all want to see it.

Good luck on getting the machine. You can always ask if they will hold something for you! The worst they can say is no!
