I have had it too , mine was bppv, benign paraxsymal(something like that) positional vertigo, i went to specialist, who had me lay back tilt head and she used a vibrating tool on my head, it went away for 2 weeks, but is back. I will try the above remedy, she is pricey. thanks. JanetM, hope u get over it fast, it definetly is not fun.

Sorry that you have this. Have had this twice myself. It really is very unpleasant. Dr diagnosed it as labrythitis but gave me no medication, just adviced rest. Took about 2 weeks each time but if I remember, it disappeared as quickly as it came.

I think it just takes time for it to go away.

Oh I had that a couple years ago. Couldn't move without the world spinning and making me sick. Someone walking by or talking to me would even set me off. I took a motion sickness pill. Meclizine. It is over the counter. Worked wonders. And it just went away in a few days with taking this. Good luck. I hope you get better fast. You can't quilt if you can't move without spinning.

My husband has this and a chiropractor near by does positioning of his head, like what Painiac said. It helps him almost immediately. He has had it so bad he has been down for days.
Hope you are feeling better .

Labrynthitis. I got some stuff called Meclizine for it. It is an antihistamine. Something about this one does something to calm the nerve that is getting irritated. They have no idea why it works but it does. The Meclizine though WILL make you VERY SLEEPY!!!! DO NOT TAKE AND DRIVE OR OPERATE Machinery!!! OF ANY KIND! Includes sewing machines!!! Sorry!
