How come it takes over 2 weeks for regular mail to get to its sender?

Mystery Question, Can send to same town and it goes 60 miles away to come back??

May have to do with the automation and auto read machines, were told to always put zip below all other words.

Our local post office used to sort everything local that came in xxx amount of time before end of day, then the out of town mail went to Waco to be sorted to individual locations. Now it ALL goes to Waco, to come back and be delivered locally.

Our mail goes 3 hours away and back. It's funny how the system is set up!

I think it goes away and comes back because of 9/11. Our local mail was sorted at the local post office and then sent out locally until 9/11. Afterwards it is sent to San Antonio, then comes back to be delivered. :-(

venting has become a serious problem at the board. we need to stop. it solves nothing and creates the wrong impression of us as a group.

also, there is no point in venting about it here. the Post Office and other commercial shipping companies aren't board members. ;-)

millions of pieces of mail make the move every day. billions every year. the number that don't zip along efficiently are the exception.

i'm just happy that i don't have to deliver things myself.
