Keep your yard solar lights charged up in case of now electricity
I read this on the internet - bring in your charged-up solar lights and keep them in the windowsill in case your power goes off - you will have good light as nighttime falls. I would think that you could put them in a vase or tall glass and set them on a table. They have some cheap ones at WalMart for about $1.00.

Funny story about solar lights. Last Mother's Day my oldest daughter and her son - my grandson - came here and "spiffed up" my patio area - brought in bricks, etc. and three new solar lights that just push into the ground. It was very dry and they did not go down into the ground too deep. Our beagle dog was a puppy then and kept trying to run off with their tools, etc. It was late in the day and they did not know if the solar lights had time to charge up. So, later, I was sitting in my living room and one by one, the solar lights came on. Then I saw one of the lights going across the yard - the puppy had picked up one in his mouth and was running across the yard!

We keep them in our camper. When we go to the mountains, there are no electrical hookups we keep a small one in the bathroom for a nightlight. During the day we just set them outside to recharge. We bring the ones from the yard into the house when we have a power outage too.
