Looking for a nurse hat pattern
#11
I am wondering why the person wants one, are they going to wash and dry it (sterilize it) after every use? Isn't this the reason they have the disposable paper ones? Are they used anywhere besides in surgery?
I can remember when hospitals had autoclaves to sterilize everything, now, the last time I had stitches removed they were going to throw out the stainless steel scissors they had used!! Now you know I spoke up and took those home - they are excellent!!

If they furnish fabric and elastic, I charge $5. If I furnish everything, I charge $7.50.

I have made and sold these for years. The going price is $10 if you supply the fabric. It takes 3/4 of a yard to cut the circle and the band. If you cut them right, you can get two from one yard. They also cost $10-$15 from a scrub supply catalogue.
We don't like the paper hats because they are ugly, make everyone look the same (and we all want to be ourselves), and the elastic on the paper hats leaves an ugly ring on your forehead.
Good luck- these can be fun to do.
