This is in todays paper ,in town near where we live. The longer article mentions meds being delivered thru mail....stolen, among other things. We just never know.

"After complaints of missing mail and a month-long investigation, the U.S. Postal Service has suspended a Muskingum County mail carrier.

Agents with the USPS Office of Inspector General, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General and the Muskingum County Sheriff's Office have been investigating complaints of missing mail in Zanesville for about a month, said Special Agent Scott Balfour with the USPS OIG. On Tuesday, investigators finally identified the person they suspect is responsible, he said.

Officials aren't releasing a name, but the suspect -- a rural mail carrier -- has been suspended until the investigation is complete, Balfour said."

Never send jewelry by the USPS. Every time I have sent some and insured it they have had to pay for it. UPS get it there.

Reminds me of when we hired a chimney sweep. The appointment was a couple weeks out and the day arrived and the work was done. A week later I got a post card in the mail confirming the date. The post card had been delivered to Holland..........yup...the European Holland! It was postmarked there then put back into the system again. I couldn't resist, I had to call the business and share it with them. We did gave a good chuckle out of it and never could figure out just how in the world it got to Holland and back!
My company mails reports to customers in 27 states. We've had them sent (mistakenly) to Melbourne Australia, Lebanon (in the Middle East), and another country that I can't remember off hand. We laugh every time. We've even had to go so far and right in big bold letters USA on the envelopes for the accounts in question.
