My dear friend (of 30 years) lost her battle with cancer. She is at peace now and I miss her terribly. Her children gave me her quilt stuff (at her request) and I found 4 quilts in progress. This is very fortunate as she has 4 children! I am quilting and binding these 4 quilts to give to her children.

I also want to apologize to a couple of you on this board. I told three people (you know who you are) I would be sending things for a project you were working on and I did not follow through. Having never been through anything like this before, I had a difficult time keeping up with things. I focussed on my friend and fell behind on and forgot about other things.

Thirdly, I want to thank you all. Even though no one here knew what was going on, you (and quilting) kept me sane. Whenever I could get on here and check topics, it gave me moments of normalcy.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your BF. How wonderful that you were given her quilting stuff and how thoughtful of you to finish the quilt tops for her 4 children. I know they will be thrilled. And you will receive great comfort when working with her quilt tops and quilting things.

I'm sure that the people you promised items to will definitely understand. Our QB friends are so wonderful!

Enjoy the moments as you finish the quilt tops!!

Thank you all. Working on her quilts will be theraputic. They may have tear spots on them when I'm done, but they will be done.

I am so sorry for your loss of your BF. She knew what she was doing when she requested that you get her sewing stuff. Hope that doing these quilts will help you get past this sad time for you. Wait till you see the smiles ( or tears of happiness) on the kids faces when they get the finished quilts. That will be the greatest gift to you.

I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear friend. I'm sure that her children will be thrilled to each have a quilt that she made, even though she didn't get them done. While you're finishing them up, remember the good times that you both had, but please don't linger on the fact that she's gone. I know that sometimes it's a very painful disease, so I would think of it this way, at least she's not in pain any longer.

I'm sure that once the members of the board know what you were going through, that they'll be very understanding of why you hadn't followed through on your commitments.
