Whew! that was hard. I just went to my investment company and sold some stock and paid my car loan off. I've been out of work one year and almost out of unemployment, so had to lower our bills somehow.
I hate, hate, hate dipping into my savings but feel good to get one bill paid off. I figure my IRA will go down again due to the stock market and world conditions. it's taken me two years to get back almost all of what i lost the last time it went haywire.
but that's life. Now how to pay the Bank loan off.......

I am glad for you. These are uncertain times and fewer bills mean less worries.

Great! Just take care of the car and it will probably take care of you for about 10 years!

Our house will be paid off in 2011. Probably December 2011, but still THIS YEAR. That makes me feel great.

July is my last payment for my car, and I can't wait. Was laid off in Jan 09 but am disabled, and fortunately got disability, but it is half what I made working. It'll be nice to have a little extra to put towards bills, but my biggest thing is that I am going to get a cleaning lady. My house is so dirty and I can do some, but it's hard pushing a vacuum in a wheel chair. I've been working on trying to pay off bills too, it isn't easy, but I just keep plugging away. So congrats on getting your car paid off.

Congrats, we paid off our truck in November, love the feeling, still have a loan on my car, I put on about 40,000 miles a year so it is very rare for us not to have a car loan, sigh...
