Ever get to thinking that you'll never catch up?
Well, I was told, not asked..ok, maybe she did ask, but I'm doing it anyway....
I have to make 2 Christening Gowns for the grandbabies. So, off to the local store I go. The ladies in there are just the sweetest. I walk out with $80 worth of fabric and lace and the pattern to make these. Oh, they want them done the end of Feb. Anyone see a problem with this?
Ok, I'm maybe just venting............

But won't you be so proud when you see your grandbabies wearing their beautiful gowns at their Christening.

What we do for our kids and grandbabies. Just think how sweet they will be in their Christening gowns that were handmade by their grandma. Then they can pass them on to their children.

Are you going to be there for their Christening?

Oh Terri! 'Bon courage' my friend! But just imagine how beautiful they'll be! Can't do much to help but send you cyber supportive hugs - and I KNOW you'll keep us posted with pics, right? :-D

I think it would be an honor to make the christening gowns for your twin grandbabies. I know the time frame is short, but if you think about what this will mean to their parents, and to them as time goes by, and to their children too...
I offered to make a christening gown for my granddaughter who was born nearly a year ago. My daughter and son-in-law very politely said no. The reason was that my son-in-law had a christening gown in his family that was made for his great-grandfather, then passed down to his grandfather, then to his father, then to him and now to his daughter. The gown was beautiful--all hand-made lace, and hand-sewn. An heirloom that is still being used, and I believe will be for my granddaughter's children too.
Just think, you could be the one making the christening gowns for your great-great grandchildren. Oh--I wish I could have had that honor...

Poor Terri!
Wait....... um, the Terri we all know and love isn't so shy and retiring that she doesn't know how to say "NO", so I guess that even though you're under the gun, deadline wise, you're really thrilled to be such an important part of such an important event, right!!??

Of course, this is the same Terri who said she couldn't possibly do an IRR this time because of her impending move. So what happens? Yep, you guessed it: She's doing TWO CENTERS! ROFLMAO.

Now, Gramma, don't forget how fast they are growing when you take the size into account. Nothing would be worse than to make them and then have them be too small! And I know that they are growing like weeds from all the good loving that gramma is giving them.

Can't wait to see the finished products on the little darlings! Good sewing!

You should have no problem doing these in time. I would break down the steps into 25 or 20 minute chucks of work and work a little on them each day. I loved making my little granddaughter's christining gown a while back. It was quite plain but I loved working with my twin needle. See it here.

Best of luck and enjoy those babies.

Ahhhhh but I bet they'll look SUPER adoreable in there gowns. ;-)

Terri--you can do it! I made a Christening gown for my oldest granddaughter in under a week----and I hand-smocked and hand-embroidered it!! Oh, and it had a matching slip, too.
