Hi everyone! My first week didn't go well with lots going on, but today I have done well.
Here is to more progress for all of us. I ate some wonderful Brussels sprouts in a low cal sauce. I also had more water than usual.
I cut out some more quilt blocks to work on at night when watching tv for my Around the World Quilt.

I will be traveling both Monday and Tuesday of this coming week, so decided to post early.
Terrific Tuesday (something to mull over) Sugar substitutes: since you can't digest them, low calorie sugar alcohols - including mannitol, sorbitol and xylitol - can cause stomach distress like bloating and gas, which are major energy drainers. Processed foods: that chocolate chip muffin or bag of chips will give you an express delivery jolt, but processed foods run through your system quickly, which means your energy spikes, then slumps fast. Less is more: Eat whole foods as often as possible (fruits, vegetables, nuts, beans, legumes, whole grains) and opt for the least processed version of packaged foods, which have the shortest ingredients list. Foods that are closest to their natural state give you a much steadier longer-lasting stream of energy.

I weighed in yesterday and was down 0.2. I was not surprised by the low number at all. I was pretty good last week but we did a buffet on Friday night. I stayed within my weekly weight watcher points. We ate a ton of crab legs which are really salty so I was holding water. I don't dip mine in melted butter so they were really low points. The scale should be really kind next week when all of the water weight is gone.
I exercise quite a bit last week too. I did the elliptical 3 days, a bootcamp class and walked 2 1/2 miles after work on Friday. We walked pretty fast a pace faster than I would have chosen. Since I am not a walker usually I was surprised that I was sore Saturday. My hips and lower back were sore yesterday. They are fine today. I guess the walking uses different muscles than the elliptical.

Teddybear lady I rec'd your fq this week.

No Painaics I haven't decided what the next 3 months will be. Have been getting lots of ideas.

I went to the Dallas quilt show yesterday, had a great time looking at all the quilts and vendors. I did buy some batiks and some blue peacock fabric and a peacock panel. There was more that I wanted to buy but I didn't need it, I am trying to only buy what is needed not just what is wanted.

Cindy, I was looking for a peacock panel but never found what I wanted. Who is yours made by?

I saw a peacock panel at a quilt show Friday but I didn't look close enough to see who made it.

I know with the sugar subsitutes, I do have lots of the problems with excess bloating and gas.

I have been eating more food close to the natural state, then processed foods. I do feel better when I dont eat alot of processed food.

Have a fun trip.

Cindy thanks for the info on the fabrics. I found the peacock fabric online but I haven't found the panels yet. I will continue to search. They are really pretty.
I have been trying to cut down on artificial sweeteners. i just feel like they are too unnatural to be good for me. I am also trying to cook and eat things closer to their natural state. I feel so much better when I eat right.
Healthy eating to all.
Pat

Now that's interesting!!! I find as I get older that is a problem but maybe it's just the SS I use. Thanks for the info!
